Mission Statement
The Doughty Home for Veteran Women is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide a safe group home for women veterans who are homeless, struggling with legal issues, and/or have difficulties with drugs/alcohol. Our goal is to integrate veteran women back into society and help them stay accountable by providing drug screenings and make sure they attend drug/alcohol recovery support groups in the community and at the VA. The Doughty Home for Veteran Women (DHVW) will help motivate veteran women to their full potential by encouraging teamwork and self-improvement in a safe, caring, group living atmosphere.
Our Smart Goal is to prepare veteran women with the tools and skills to live on their own without the use of drugs or alcohol and to never have to face homelessness again. We provide education about money management, time management, self-care, recovery-oriented issues, and how to integrate back into society.
